We are currently seeking qualified and interested candidates for a contract position as a Violence Prevention Program Educator.

Position Summary: 

The Violence Prevention Program Educator is responsible for presenting violence prevention curricula in educational and community-based settings to educate youth and adolescents about the healthy expression of feelings, healthy relationships, and dating violence prevention.

Primary Duties:

Present age-appropriate evidence-based curricula on the healthy expression of feelings, dating violence, and healthy relationships to students in tri-county service area elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and post-secondary schools.

Position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or working on degree) in education, human service field, psychology, social and behavioral sciences or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of domestic violence and related issues and/or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to effectively build strong relationships with youth, adult, and diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency in working with marginalized communities.
  • Excellent public speaking, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
  • Experience/comfort working with children and adolescents and educational settings.
  • Access to reliable private transportation with appropriate license and insurance and ability to travel throughout the service area.
  • Ability to work flexible hours that may include some early mornings or evenings.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check.

Compensation: This is a grant-funded independent contractor position. Classes vary weekly and are heavier during the academic school year. There is no guarantee of how many classes would be conducted each week so compensation is not consistent. Compensation includes $35 per class taught and mileage reimbursement matching the current IRS mileage rate per mile traveled to each school in our three-county service area (Habersham, Stephens, and White).
